Actually with the new versions of WP is a good idea to check if there is a php memory limit. From my own experience the memory WP has, the better. But at the same time depending on more or less stable work in .ht access put the following line: php_value memory_limit 32M. And adjust to not less than 32M. The higher, the better. 64M should be great.

I agree, I don’t know why things seem to just magically change. I guess hosts do upgrades and things no longer work as well.

As far as the line numbers, they’re not *really* there/here, it’s just the WordPress plugin I’m using to show code.

Hi Bradley, maybe you copied full text from the box along with the lines numbers? That maybe the case, you have to remove them.

Anyway thank you for this post it helped me to publish my long post, however it is interesting that earlier i was able to publish all kinds of posts long and short.

I put that line in my .htaccess file, but it then gave me a 500 error. I’m no .htaccess pro, do I need some sort of code around that line? Thanks.

Actually (especially with the new WP versions) it is also a good idea to check if there is a php memory limit.

From my own experience the memory WP has, the better. But if you want more or less stable work, in .htaccess put the following line:

php_value memory_limit 32M

This also fixes the trouble I was having with WP E-Commerce where I couldn't change the status of the purchase (to e.g. Accepted Payment) and thus the buyer wasn't getting a confirmation email that his purchase was accepted.
