Is your WordPress out of date? Don’t wait until your site goes down, gets lots or gets hacked. Be proactive and upgrade the core, plugins, and theme.
Update WordPress, plugins, and themes to the latest versions.
It’s not unlike changing the oil on your car: it’s a good idea to just do it regularly. Of course, if you don’t know how to do it or can’t be bothered, then it might turn into bigger trouble down the, uh, road. If you’re on top of your plugins and themes and WP core, you can just click update and you’re … probably fine. If you’d like us to get in there and make sure it’s all using the latest and greatest, we’ll be happy to do that for you.
[box type=”alert”]Clunker Alert: if your WP is older than version 3.0, we’re going to need to have a look under the hood first and there might be additional costs to bring it up to code. [/box]
Just like the oil in your car, WordPress needs to be updated from time to time. It helps prevent incompatibilities with themes and plugins, having code break while servers upgrade, and most of all can help prevent getting hacked.
Here’s a list of what we’ll do:
- Back up entire site (files and database)
- Upgrade WordPress core
- Upgrade all plugins
- Upgrade theme
You can absolutely do this yourself. Just got to Dashboard –> Updates and check all of the boxes and click update all. The only fear is that something is so old that it breaks something else and it needs fixing or it breaks your site and brings it down.
