Using WordPress

email

I have installed (on some sites) a new editor that allows you to more easily bold, italicize, etc. the content of your entry in WordPress. However, there’s one glitch: if you just start using the new editor on an EXISTING ENTRY, it will remove ALL paragraph formatting. So a 27-paragraph essay will become a ONE-paragraph blob. Here’s how to avoid that:

1.) Open your existing site to the page you’re going to be editing (the website, not the WP Dashboard), so www.likomaisland.com/design, not www.likomaisland.com/design/wp-admin/edit.php. Keep that browser window open.

2.) In a separate window, open WP and find the entry you want to edit. When you open it, you’ll see the new editor buttons come up AND you’ll see all of the paragraphs disappear. Highlight all of the text and delete it (DO NOT save yet!). From the other browser window where your site still is, copy the entire entry, photos and all, and then switch to the WP window and paste it in there. Now you should have nice and pretty formatting of paragraphs, right? If not, do NOT save your work, exit out of the WP window and try again. When you get the pretty formatting in the WP window, you’re ready to save.

That wasn’t so bad, was it?
