Joui Turandot needed a rebranding from her “Joui Style” brand and site to take it to the next level. Beyond just Joui and her style, but focusing on her clients and what she was going to do to help those clients: Fashion Eye for Men was born. With some focused copywriting by Zeimer’s Advertising Shoppe, an uber-stylish theme from ThemeForest, Joui at the helm uploading content, adding photos, slideshows, and blogging regularly, we were ready for prime time.

Joui was already pretty hip to the online world and had been blogging at WordPress.com for some time. We easily imported those posts to her current site to promote her domain–and not wordpress.com.

A little bit of geeky behind the scenes … the theme utilizes WordPress 3.0’s new “custom post types” so that the slideshow, for example, is not exactly a post, but in a separate editing area. This keeps it out of the RSS feed and lets Joui focus the slideshow exactly how she wants it. There are also a few powerful (sidebar) widgets that let Joui put testimonials handsomely in the footer, show news items in a sidebar, and more. The admin panel the developer created is quite powerful and user friendly. Those are things that I’m looking for when I’m researching a theme: powerful features, but still easy enough to use for the casual site owner.

Check out Joui’s style and her freshly minted dudes at Fashion Eye for Men.
