In WordPress, if you can’t remember your password or user name, here’s what to do.

This might seem like a bad thing, but your WP developer or designer probably doesn’t have your password. A faster way to get your lost or forgotten password is to use the password recovery tool built into WordPress.

If you don’t know how to log in, just add this part of a URL to your domain:

/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

So for yourdomain.com, this would be:

http://yourdomain.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

If you don’t know your user name, you can enter your email address. If you’re not sure which email address you used (or the developer used), try a few and see if you get the response from the server in your email. If nothing works, then it’s time to ask someone who does have admin rights to your site to at least get the correct email for you.

Once you do set a new password, it’s extremely important to set a very difficult one.

Just enter your user name or email and you're on your way to getting back into your site.
