I use screencasts (audio/video recordings of screen action) for tutorials for a variety of computer help and I’m testing out which video service works best. I’m looking for good quality video and audio, I’d like the service to not resize my video too much (or not at all), I’d like it to stream so it starts quickly, and I’d like the file size to be reduced so the streaming is most efficient. Revenue would be nice, but isn’t necessary.

I created a 25 MB AVI file (a WordPress tutorial about uploading PDF files into WP) and then uploaded the file into these services:

  • Metacafe
  • Blip TV
  • Revver
  • Google Video
  • YouTube
  • Vimeo
  • iFilm
