It's just an image and it's just a sidebar. The trouble is that the widgets (the content ares that populate sidebars) don't have much as far as design or layout tools. So what do I usually do?

I personally love the full-width slider in Scrollider, but I wanted something like it in Canvas. I'm sure the WOO Ninjas will bring it into Canvas at some point, but until then, here's how to get a full-width slider into Canvas.

It can be a challenge in HTML (on any website) to put in some blank space. WOO Themes Shortcodes offers up some options.
Another built-in Jetpack feature for even more slideshow options is the Carousel. Choose this option and your simple gallery turns into a full-screen lightbox slideshow complete with left and right arrows, titles and, if you choose, EXIF data.
Another Jetplack bonus: tiled galleries option in regular gallery. They do a nice mosaic, circles, squares and who know what they'll update next.
I'm a total stickler for the favicon. When I see a site without it I think, "Slacker."
Using CSS gradients, you can get that slick Photoshopped look without the images or even Photoshop.
"Hey, I found this fantastic theme! Can you customize it?" Of course I can. But it's analogous to going to the house contractor and saying, "Hey, I saw this gorgeous house. Can you build it?
Using the uBillboard WordPress slider plugin and it automatically resizes my vertical or portrait images so that they repeat--which I don't want.
We can do the Quick and Dirty job or we can do the job right. Or is it not so straight forward?
