I just got a frantic call from a client whose site was still there (template files, basic structure, and WP was working), but it was basically empty. There’s one place I usually look first: the SQL database. In cPanel, click MySQL® Databases, then choose your database and click repair. Weird little trick that can save you from oblivion–and hours of frustration.

You’d think this trick would be more publicized. I think there are a few plugins that might automatically “repair” your SQL databases on a regular basis, but in case you don’t have those installed, you could give this quick fix a try and … close your eyes and hope it magically all reappears.
